Pricing questions
- Do you charge per board member?
- No. BoardDock is priced per workspace, not per director. Each plan includes a set number of active members, so you can add your whole board up to your plan's limit without paying more per person.
- What counts as an active member?
- Anyone with active access to your workspace. Deactivated members don't count toward your limit. Pending invitations do count, so you don't accidentally over-invite past your plan.
- Can we change plans later?
- Yes — anytime from Settings → Billing. Upgrades take effect immediately and you keep all your data; you can also move down a plan when your needs change.
- What currency will we be charged in?
- Checkout picks your currency automatically — Canadian boards are billed in CAD and boards elsewhere in USD, at prices set for each market (for example the Standard plan is $69 CAD or $49 USD a month), so you always pay in a familiar currency.
- What happens if we reach our storage limit?
- We warn you as you approach the limit, and uploads that would exceed your plan's storage are blocked rather than silently failing. Upgrading adds more space right away.
- Is BoardDock suitable for confidential board materials?
- Yes. Access is enforced at the database level with role-based permissions on every plan. Standard and Plus add in-camera (executive session) and restricted confidentiality tiers for the most sensitive items.
- Where is our data stored?
- Securely in Canada, encrypted, with access enforced at the database level — under PIPEDA, one of the world's strongest privacy regimes (recognized as adequate by the EU). - Does BoardDock provide legal advice?
- No. BoardDock provides practical structure for board governance. It is not a substitute for legal, accounting, or other professional advice.
